Physiotherapy is typically prescribed by a doctor. With a medical prescription, the session costs will be covered by basic insurance (health insurance/accident insurance). Invoices will be sent directly to your insurance provider, which will then reimburse you based on your deductible and co-payment conditions.
Physiotherapy is also available without a medical prescription (private treatment). In this case, the services will be billed directly to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are our areas of expertise?
We specialize in various types of rehabilitation, primarily in trauma care and post-surgery recovery. This includes the treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries.
How does the health insurance reimbursement process work?
It all depends on the category of care you’re assigned to. In the case of an accident, it’s usually your employer or private insurance that reimburses you. For illness, reimbursement will depend on your deductible.
What is the difference between a simple consultation and a complex consultation?
The difference lies in the number of areas to be treated. If multiple areas need to be treated, it will be a complex consultation provided that these two areas are separated by at least one joint.
Why a 45-minute assessment?
Because effective rehabilitation begins with a comprehensive assessment, and a comprehensive assessment deserves adequate time to address your specific issue. This time also allows us to provide you with immediate feedback and offer initial advice on your rehabilitation.
If I am being coached by an Off-Field Coach, can I also have access to physiotherapy at the same time?
Yes, of course. It’s the very philosophy of our center: to support you in physiotherapy and physical preparation for the long or even very long term.
What should I bring with me to the first appointment?
Your insurance card must be provided in all cases.
If you are covered by accident insurance: the date of the accident, the claim number, and the name of the accident insurance.
Additionally, any documents that could be useful to us in evaluating your case (imaging, medical reports, etc.).
Do I need to see my doctor once I have completed my physiotherapy prescription?
A physiotherapy prescription covers up to a maximum of 9 rehabilitation sessions. After that, your doctor may ask you to revisit them before prescribing a new physiotherapy prescription if necessary.
What is the difference between manual therapy and exercise therapy?
Manual therapy is a passive treatment during which your physiotherapist may use various methods (mobilizations, massage), while exercise therapy is an active treatment based on performing exercises guided by your physiotherapist. At Off-Field, we will adapt to your case by offering a combination of these two types of treatment if necessary.
How is the integration with physical training organized?
We recommend never stopping your training. There’s always a way to train. Injured in the lower body? Don’t waste time and train the upper body. The reverse also works.
At the end of your physiotherapy treatment and after a final assessment, we will connect you with our physical training service to schedule your training sessions. Our physical training service can use the assessment conducted in physiotherapy to ensure the continuation of your progress.
Once my physiotherapy prescription has begun, what is the maximum period I can allow to pass between two sessions?
We recommend not exceeding 2 months between two sessions.
Words from the Head Physiotherapist
“Cowards never start, the weak never finish, and winners never quit.” — Phil Knight, founder of Nike
A former judo athlete and participating in other sports at least, rehabilitation quickly became a vocation. After obtaining my physiotherapy degree, I completed a certification in sports physiotherapy. I now assist individuals, athletes (amateur or professional), in various projects, but all sharing a common goal: returning to an optimal state of fitness!
To support you in the best possible way, I also train myself and regularly update my knowledge in physiotherapy in order to pass it on to you. More than a caregiver-patient relationship, rehabilitation is also a sharing of experiences, which is why I wanted to co-found Off-Field. You are not alone in this adventure, we are a team. This partnership between us is essential to maximize the chances of success!
